About the project
Il Modulo Jean Monnet Promoting and progressing European Union citizenship rights for a value-based and future-proof integration (PRO2-EUCITI – Project no. 101176542) è finanziato dalla Commissione europea nell’ambito del programma Erasmus+.
Ha preso avvio il 1° ottobre 2024 e avrà durata triennale.
Il progetto si propone di realizzare una serie di attività didattiche organizzate dal Dipartimento di Scienze giuridiche dell’Università di Verona e modulate in base ai rispettivi destinatari:
(i) studenti delle scuole secondarie di secondo grado,
(ii) studenti di area giuridica a livello di (a) laurea triennale e (b) laurea magistrale a ciclo unico, e
(iii) operatori del diritto e professionisti.
Queste attività didattiche sono tenute da docenti con diversi background professionali e aree di competenza per avvicinare la cittadinanza dell’UE ai destinatari individuati, sulla base di diverse metodologie e prospettive di attuazione dei diritti conferiti da tale status.
Alle attività didattiche si aggiungono eventi organizzati come occasioni di più ampio dibattito e sensibilizzazione su vari temi legati alla cittadinanza europea, anch’essi differenziati in forma di iniziative pubbliche o momenti di riflessione scientifica in considerazione del pubblico di riferimento.
La ricerca svolta durante l’intera durata del progetto è strumentale alle attività didattiche così come agli eventi, considerando che la cittadinanza europea è un concetto giuridico in evoluzione in grado di costruire percorsi di ricerca innovativi e multidisciplinari.
Il progetto mira inoltre a promuovere il dialogo tra il mondo accademico e la società civile attraverso il coinvolgimento di diversi stakeholders nella realizzazione delle attività proposte, nonché ad approfondire la conoscenza dell’agenda dell’UE sui diritti di cittadinanza.
The Jean Monnet Module Promoting and progressing European Union citizenship rights for a value-based and future-proof integration (PRO2-EUCITI – Project no. 101176542) is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme.
It started on 1 October 2024 and will run for three years.
The project envisages the implementation of a set of four teaching activities organised by the Department of Law of the University of Verona and tailor-made according to the target groups:
(i) students from secondary schools,
(ii) undergraduate students in legal sciences at (a) bachelor’s degree level and (b) single-cycle master’s degree level, and
(iii) legal practitioners and professionals.
These teaching courses are delivered by a teaching staff with diverse professional background and areas of expertise to bring EU citizenship closer to the chosen target groups on the basis of different methodologies and perspectives of implementation on the rights conferred by that status.
The teaching activities are complemented by events planned as occasions of broader debate and awareness raising on various issues connected to EU citizenship, also differentiated in the form of public initiatives or academic roundtables in consideration of the target audiences.
The research carried out during the whole project lifetime is instrumental to both the teaching activities and events, considering that EU citizenship is an evolving legal concept that spurs innovative and multidisciplinary research pathways.
The project also aims to foster dialogue between academia and society through the involvement of differentiated stakeholders in implementing the proposed activities, as well as to deepen the knowledge of the EU agenda on citizenship rights.
